The October Killings by Wessel Ebersohn

03/08/2011

This is the first book in a promising new crime series set in post-apartheid South Africa.  It features young and upcoming lawyer, Abigail, with a tragic past.  When she was just 15, her parents were killed in front of her during a massacre of anti-apartheid activists by white apartheid security forces.  Her own life was barely saved when one of the soldiers came to her defense.  Now twenty years later, that soldier walks into her law office seeking her assistance.  Someone is killing the members of the security force team that were involved in that raid.  As Abigail works to save the man who saved her she finds herself digging deeper into the complex world of modern South Africa.
