The Passage by Justin Cronin

09/27/2010

For those tired of sensitive, caring vampires and find themselves longing for the good ol’ days of vampire fiction where the beasts actually set out to destroy humanity instead of falling in love with it, then The Passage has arrived just in time for you.  The book is set in post-apocalyptic American, after a military experiment to create a super soldier went horribly wrong.  After wiping out most of the worlds population, there are only a few survivors remaining in FEMA-established refugee camps.  It soon becomes apparent that those too will fail.  Then a 6-year-old orphan girl is discovered living outside of the camp.  What is her secret that allows her to survive the hordes?  This begins the journey to find out and for her to right what has been wronged.  This is the first book of a potential trilogy.  Something that is sure to be watched due to the popularity and quality of the book.
